What do you think is our killer number one in our modern western society?
Believe it or not, the most common cause of death in the united states is cardiovascular disease. Many studies have proven that even people of whom it was thought that they died of natural causes have actually died because of heart disease.
Every year 690.000 Americans die because of heart diseases.
That is more than any other cause of death in the united states.
Can you even believe that 690.000 people die every year because of cardiovascular diseases?
And how does it come to this tragedy? Why are so many people dying because of this gruesome disease?
The bitter truth is that it is because of our western way of living. People in our culture are totally underestimating how important a healthy diet is. It almost seems like people are thinking that they are immortal and can do whatever they want and never have to face any consequences for how they treat their bodies. People nowadays think that they can take just a pill for every problem they have, to make it go away.
Most people probably even treat their body worse than they would their ex.
But no kidding, seeing how society treats itself is the actual tragedy. You have to be aware that every one of us only has one body. And some things you can't "repair" anymore. At one point they're going to be irreparably damaged.
But the good thing is, none of you have to eat unhealthily. Every one of us can decide every single day how we want to live our lives and if we want to live a healthy or unhealthy life. You are the creator of your own life and you make the decisions.
With a healthy and conscious diet, you can be able to not only prevent heart disease but even heal it! And in the next paragraphs, you will get a few helpful tips on how to prevent and heal heart disease.
The worst thing for your heart is LDL- cholesterol (so-called bad cholesterol) and a very fatty diet in particular the very unhealthy saturated fats which you find primarily in fast food, sweets, and unhealthy snacks. Today you can find them in almost everything, which is why we even have heart problems.
So to stay healthy you should absolutely cut these things out of your diet. Saturated fats are common in foods like cheese, sausage, red meat, chips, butter and lard, chocolate, cream, fatty sweets, baked goods, and also in coconut and palm oil. Those are the only two vegetable oils that naturally contain saturated fats. As you can see you are consuming those unhealthy fats mostly by eating foods that contain animal products. This is why I recommend cutting most, if not all animal products out of your diet.
Cholesterol is also only found in animal products. So to reduce your risk of heart disease I would recommend you renounce these products.
But how is it possible to not only reduce the risk of getting sick but to prevent or heal the disease completely?
My idol in this field is Dr. Michael Greger and so I like to follow his list of foods which he recommends we should eat every single day. He calls this list the "daily dozen"
Down below I have this list for you to download for free.
*The dots show you how many portions of each food you should eat a day.
I can also recommend Dr. Gregers App called DailyDozen. The app is completely free and with it, you can check every day how many of your daily dozens you have already eaten. It's very good especially in the beginning to keep track of how many of these foods you are actually eating on a daily basis.
Don't get demotivated if you're not able to integrate all of the daily dozen right when you start. Give it a little time and you will realize it's not as hard as you thought and it will get easier every day. Try to incorporate more foods every week. Even what seems like little steps are very big changes for your body health and nutrition so don't forget to be proud of yourself.
